Dr Emma Compton is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Division of Molecular Microbiology in the College of Life Sciences. Following an undergraduate degree and a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Bristol and at the National Institutes of Health in America before moving to the University of Dundee three years ago.

Emma has been Co-chair of the College of Life Sciences Postdoc Association and is the regional representative for the UK Research Staff Association in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Following this postdoc she hopes to move into the growing field of staff development.

Emma has just given birth to her second child and is one of the driving forces behind this project.
